The Mornington Peninsula wine region is located in the southern part of Victoria, Australia. Our small peninsula is surrounded by Port Phillip and Western Port bays, as well as Bass Strait to the south. These magnificent coastal waters surround lush hinterland and undulating valleys, creating a unique maritime, cool-climate wine region. Vineyards were first planted in the 1970’s with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay being the predominant varietals. The region has become well known for its excellent cool-climate growing conditions. More recently Shiraz, Tempranillo, Pinot Gris and Grigio have been produced with outstanding success by many winemakers.
